The Process Control Officers are to daily focus on adding value and improving our
operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to achieve effective
risk management, controls’ compliance, and governance adherence within our
warehouse-related operations. The candidate should possess a balanced knowledge
of agro-commodities, agribusiness processes and elementary accounting
procedures. A risk-mitigating mindset and sound judgement are also crucial.
Responsibilities
The Process Control Officers are to daily focus on adding value and improving our
operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to achieve effective
risk management, controls’ compliance, and governance adherence within our
warehouse-related operations. The candidate should possess a balanced knowledge
of agro-commodities, agribusiness processes and elementary accounting
procedures. A risk-mitigating mindset and sound judgement are also crucial.
▪ Carrying out daily/weekly inventory count of grains across the locations
assigned to ensure the system position aligns with the physical count.
▪ Checking the quality of grains aggregated in the various warehouses in line with
AFEX’s standard (which aligns with best practice).
▪ Carrying out compliance checks of the warehouses' operations to Food Safety
Management System (FSMS) and Quality Management System (QMS) standards
across the locations assigned.
▪ Ensuring that conformity checks of the environment, health & safety, inventory
and general operations of the warehouses in their assigned area are done and submitted to the Head, Inventory Audit; while following up with the relevant
parties to ensure issues raised are investigated and resolved.
▪ Ensuring adoption of standard warehouse practices for commodities intake,
stacking, storage and dispatches to promote data integrity across all AFEX’s
technology systems.
▪ Conducting periodic checks of all warehouse-related operations aimed at
ensuring operational transparency, effectiveness, and consistency. For
instance, carrying out a check to confirm that all transactions are posted, paid
(where applicable) and accurately & timely reported at the required intervals.
▪ Other duties and ad-hoc projects as may be assigned.
